Check These Out

I have been listening to a lot of Christian radio on my way back and forth to work and I just fell in love with these two songs. . . Check them out!

What Faith Can Do Lyrics

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think it’s more than you can take
But you are stronger, stronger than you know
Don’t you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard
Impossible is not a word
It’s just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody’s scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It’ll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

Overcome the odds
You don't have a chance
(That’s what faith can do)
When the world says you can’t
It’ll tell you that you can!

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do
That's what faith can do!
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise

More Beautiful You-Jonny Diaz

Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn’t straight her body isn’t fake
And she’s always felt overweight

Well little girl fourteen I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart
And you were made with such care your skin your body and your hair
Are perfect just the way they are

There could never be a more beautiful you
dont buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you

Little girl twenty-one the things that you’ve already done
Anything to get ahead
And you say you’ve got a man but he’s got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead

Well little girl twenty-one you never thought that this would come
You starve yourself to play the part
But I can promise you there’s a man whose love is true
And he’ll treat you like the jewel you are

There could never be a more beautiful you
dont buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you

So turn around you’re not too far
To back away be who you are
To change your path go another way
It’s not too late you can be saved
If you feel depressed with past regrets
The shameful nights hope to forget
Can disappear they can all be washed away
By the one who’s strong can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears dry all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light He will show you truth
And again you’ll see through the eyes of a little girl

There could never be a more beautiful you
dont buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
There could never be, a more beautiful you.

Valentine's Day

So I kind of have this wishy washy feeling about Valentine's Day. I have been reading a few books and we just finished a series on imarriage (little I, big marriage) at our church and it has been really powerful. First of all today is my brother's birthday so we have always celebrated the day as his birthday rather than anything really to do with Valentine's Day. Second, I just don't know why we need a specific day to celebrate love because if we truly love people shouldn't we tell them that every day and show them how much we love them with our gifts of service and our words and not need one specific day to prove it with cards and flowers and gifts? I feel that the older I get, the more I watch people lose people they love all too soon and not get the chance to tell the people that they love how much they love them. I am challenging everyone who reads my blog (no matter what your celebration included today) to continue to act lovingly and randomly give gifts of service and time, or cards, or kind loving words to your spouse and loved ones between now and next Valentine's Day and see how your life is changed as well as the lives of the people you love. Pray about it and really ask God to show you how to love like he does and I would be willing to bet that you would not be disappointed.

Busy Busy Busy

As I sit here, the snow is falling like crazy and I can't believe these words are going to come out of my mouth (or off my keyboard) but I really really really hope we do not have a snow day tomorrow! My reasons:
1. Tomorrow is my day without a prep and I would rather have no prep tomorrow when I have nothing before school and some time after school to recover. . . Tuesday I have a meeting before school and a basketball game that I have to leave school early for, Wednesday I have a work night for upcoming conferences from 4:30-8:30 and Thursday another basketball game that I have to leave early for.
2. We have a field trip planned for the 17th on a day when I have no prep and if we miss tomorrow I would miss my day with an hour and a half of prep that week and have a day with no prep and then a basketball game and 2 hours of conferences. . .

This month is going to go fast and this week marks the beginning of a really really really busy few weeks for Ryan and I. He is traveling for work Tuesday/Wednesday and all of next week, we have something in Brainerd next weekend and a wedding the last weekend of Feb. I am just keeping my eyes on that first week of March and the wonderful, relaxing time I am going to spend soaking up the sun in beautiful Fergus Falls MN :)
