Happy Birthday Ryan!

Happy 25th birthday to Ryan today. . . As his parents told me, His dad was out planting beans and his mom was out planting potatoes when he decided he should join the world. How thankful am I that he did! Ryan, I love you with all of my heart and I am so honored and privileged and proud to be your wife. I thank god every day for every teeny tiny thing you do for me (and all the great big ones too). (God and I are still chatting about the snoring however. . . ) I hope your day is great and that the next quarter of a century will be just as good as the last one! I love you!

The Revolutionary War

This week we made Revolutionary War Timelines and illustrated them. The spelling is exactly as it was on a paper but not necessarily the one pictured. . .

First there was the Frinch and Indin War:
Then there was the Shuggar Act:
Next came the Townshed Acts:

The Intollerrable/Coersive Acts:

And the Boston Masakir:
Paul Reverse's Ride: (that donkey must have been fast)
Congress excepts the Declaration of Independence
and two I just like. . . one because the guys are standing on top of one another to fight and the other one because those are exactly the words I used to teach it. . . John Hancock. . .

Happy Mother's Day!-Doubly Blessed

I am one of the most blessed people in the whole world and I thank God everyday for everything he has given me because I know that I am not deserving and his love and blessings have made me what I am today. One of the reasons I am so blessed is because of this amazing lady right here:
There is no one else in the world like her! Who else in the world would sing Jesus loves me in the car with you when you were going to the hospital because you broke your arm? Who else would build nests for you on the floor when it was storming and you were scared? Who else would gag while in the car with you after you puked all over yourself at school? Who else would wash your hair in the sink and then do it for you and help you button your jeans when you were a senior in high school with a hurt hand? Who else would take your laundry at a Monday basketball game and bring it back on Wednesday completely clean and folded because you were too busy playing college basketball to do it yourself? Who else would send you back to school with weeks of meals because you did not have time to cook, study, and play basketball? Who else would teach you to cook and always let you help in the kitchen no matter how big of a mess you made and how old you were? Who else would help you plan your wedding? Who else could be your best friend, listening ear, role model, hero, teacher, comforter, helper. . . ? I could go on and on forever! I am so lucky to have my mom! I thank god for her every day and I love her with all of my heart. I only hope that when I have kids I can be like her in so many ways. Happy Mother's Day Mom!

We are doubly blessed by this lady:While I can't list off all of the things she has done for Ryan that make her so special and I can't get him to blog. . . yet. . . I can tell you that she is just as special to him (us) as my mom is to me (us). She has been so wonderful and accepting and willing to help with so many things and above all else, she raised a great son and supports him and would do anything for him. Thanks Deb for being who you are and doing all you have done for us. We love you!

Success!

So Ryan and I went to Fargo today because I needed to not sit around all day on my tight muscles. . . We went to old navy, famous footwear, coldstone, scheels, and the mall. We only bought three things, two cheap tanktops and this:
I have wanted a Gardenhire jersey FOREVER and Ryan found one today! This made the whole trip a success. Love it!!!

National Day of Prayer

Today is the national day of prayer and I just have to share what is on my heart and start the awesome prayer chain i have in my life. . . A 6 year old girl from Alex drowned on Sunday in the hot tub at a friends birthday party. The family has been on my heart even though the girl did not go to my school and I don't know her family. I pray for peace and strength as Jim and Nicole prepare to bury their little girl tomorrow. Whether you know them or not, lift them up in prayer as they deal with a hard reality that has rocked our community. May they rest in the knowledge that Kourtni is in heaven with her father who loves her and needed her more that this world did and that they will see her again in all his glory.

Why not?

Why not bring twizzlers and pixie sticks to share with your class on your birthday??? Note to all parents: It will make your child's teacher's day. . . I will let you decide how.

Whose Idea Was This?

So yesterday at school we planted 2300 trees. Not just my class, every class. We buddied up with our kindergarten buddies and there were 3 other kindergarten classes and 3 other 5th & 6th grade classes. . . There were 12 shovels for about 200 kids, it was MUDDY and it was raining. . . again I ask, whose idea was this? the directions were "this is how you plant a tree, go over there and plant 4 each. here is the proof (and yes those are plastic bags around the kids' feet who did not have boots or other tennis shoes) The best part of the whole experience for me was getting to buy yellow rain boots with white polka dots. . . which are not picturedwhat a great non stressful activity for a Friday! The custodians loved it. . . and so did the teacher in her high heels. . .
